On the court
Vini is a tall, agile guard who can play both the 1 and 2 positions. Thanks to his quick reactions and long wingspan, he’s also extremely valuable defensively and can effectively guard opposing top scorers. He plays very creatively and unpredictably — you rarely see a player who shows something different every time, which makes him hard to scout for even with precise preparation. Offensively, he’s a strong midrange and spot-up three-point shooter. Conditioning-wise, he’s among the fittest players I know: even 30+ minutes of box-and-one defense are no problem for him.
As a person
Even more than his skills on the court, I value Vini as a person and teammate. He approaches people openly, whether he knows them or not, listens attentively, and doesn’t need to always be the center of attention. He has a fine sense for when to speak and when to simply listen, reads people very well, and is always respectful — you simply feel comfortable around him. Vini is goal-driven, knows exactly where he wants to go, and works harder and longer than most. He pursues his goals in a planned, strategic way. In his private life, he’s a reliable friend and family man with a big heart and a character you don’t find often these days.
I recommend Vini wholeheartedly — athletically and personally, he’s an asset to any team and any college.
